Do I need to know which service I need?
No. You don't need to choose a service before contacting MH Careers. Start with the free 15-minute introductory call and Melissa will learn what you're trying to decide before recommending the most suitable type of support.
 

What happens during the free 15-minute introductory call?
It is a short, no-obligation conversation about where you're currently at, what you need help with and how MH Careers may be able to support you. If a service is appropriate, Melissa will explain the process and cost before you proceed.
 

Can a parent enquire on behalf of their child?
Yes. Parents are welcome to make the initial enquiry, particularly for secondary students and recent school leavers. Depending on the student's age and situation, Melissa can then discuss how best to involve both the student and parent.
 

Are MH Careers appointments online?
Yes. Services are delivered online using Microsoft Teams, with Zoom available where needed. This allows MH Careers to support clients across Australia.
 

2. Career Assessment & Psychometric Testing
 

Is this just an online career test?
No. Psychometric testing is only one part of the process. Melissa interprets the findings, researches suitable career and study pathways, prepares a personalised written report and discusses the results and recommendations with you.
 

Do I need to know what career I want first?
No. Career assessment is particularly useful for people who genuinely aren't sure what direction may suit them.
 

What do the assessments look at?
The assessments used depend on your situation and may explore areas such as reasoning, aptitude and other factors relevant to career fit. Melissa determines the most appropriate assessment approach after discussing your needs.
 

Do I receive a written report?
Yes. The service includes a comprehensive personalised report explaining the findings and connecting them with practical career and study recommendations. The report is yours to keep and revisit later.
 

How long does the career-assessment process take?
MH Careers aims to complete the assessment, research, report and feedback process within approximately seven days.
 

How much does career assessment cost?
The current full career-assessment service is $350 until 31 December 2026, increasing to $400 from January 2027.
 

3. Career Counselling & Pathway Guidance
 

What is the difference between career counselling and psychometric assessment?
Career counselling is generally better suited to someone who already has some ideas but needs help comparing options, researching pathways or making a decision. Psychometric assessment provides deeper assessment when someone has little clarity about where their strengths may fit.
 

What is included in career counselling?
The $200 service includes the free introductory call, a detailed career questionnaire, Melissa's preparation and pathway research, and a one-hour personalised counselling session.
 

Can you help with subject selection?
Yes. Career counselling can help students explore how senior subject choices may connect with future study, training and career pathways.
 

Can I book additional sessions?
Yes. Follow-up sessions are available at $100 per hour where further support is needed.
 

4. Résumé & Employability Support
 

Do you write résumés for clients?
Yes. A done-for-you résumé service is available from $200, or from $250 with a cover letter. This is separate from the full Résumé & Employability Package.
 

What is different about the $350 Résumé & Employability Package?
The full package is designed to help you develop skills you can use for future applications, rather than simply handing you a finished résumé. It includes structured resources and templates, résumé and cover-letter guidance, LinkedIn guidance, personalised review, feedback and broader employability support.
 

Can you help if I have little or no work experience?
Yes. School activities, volunteering, casual work, projects, responsibilities, achievements and transferable skills can all provide evidence for an early-career résumé. Melissa helps you identify and present that evidence effectively.
